Juan Andrés Apolo Gonzaga

I obtained a B.E degree in Electronics and Telecommunications Engineering from Universidad Técnica Particular de Loja(Ecuador) in 2018; during these years, I registered three national patents related to IoT.  In 2020 I obtained a M.Sc. degree in telecommunication technologies, systems, and networks from Universitat Politécnica de Valencia (UPV), Spain.

I am currently a research assistant (Ph.D. student) at the iTEAM Research Institute of the Universitat Politècnica de València, as part of the Photonic Research Labs, where I work full time.

My research is focused on free space optics, specifically visible light communications. The research aims to design and implement a hybrid wired and wireless optical network in the visible spectrum for indoor communications and lighting.
